Impact of Climate Change on Cassava Yield in Nigeria: An Autoregressive Distributed Lag Bound Approach

Across the globe, climate change is threatening environment, crop yield and food security. The key to ensuring a sustainable increase security identify long-term significant impact of means reducing effect. This study examined impacts on cassava in Nigeria. Data were sourced from Climate Change Knowledge Portal Food Agricultural Organization United Nations spanning 1990 2019. was analyzed using Autoregressive Distributed Lag Bound approach, Error Correction Model Augmented Dickey–Fuller Phillips–Perron tests for stationarity test. model subjected diagnostic such as stability tests, normality serial correlation heteroscedasticity tests. With exception temperature, revealed that arable land, rainfall greenhouse gases C2O, nitrous oxide methane had also noted causes damage more than any other gas climatic variables study. We recommended policies programs facilitate uptake climate-smart agriculture centers emission reduction improvement research by breeding varieties will be resilient shocks.
